About a Dress #29

About a Dress #29
This week’s about a dress was donated to us by a lovely tailoring client. The print was great, but as you can see, it was shredding. She’d had the arm pits patched multiple times by the dry cleaner, but was finally ready to throw in the towel, and hand it off to us for a second life. Luckily, my favorite summer look involves over size armscyes and bandeaus, and seeing how mother nature has been mocking us recently, it felt like time to tempt fate and start prepping for spring!

Customer Profile: Dafna

The fashionable lady behind I Found That Vintage, Dafna, brought us one of her vintage ties to be turned into one of our custom designs. She decided on the Ginger Root Ascot because it is a little more modern with the angular lines. So we figured out how long she wanted the straps and went for it! Dafna-Custom-Ascot-final-low-res

Customer Profile: Charlie’s Spring Dress

This week’s customer profile is near and dear to our hearts! Ms Charlie Heck (Editor-in-chief of fab online magazine Luri & Wilma AND Ginger Root Tailoring receptionist extraordinaire) was in some trouble. Her magazine was just coming out with its first print issue, and she needed a spring-appropriate, fabulous dress for her launch party. She found this little ensemble on Etsy , but obviously it wasn’t going to work in it’s original condition. Charlie was getting lost in the side pleats and overall oversized cut of this dress.

Customer Profile: Julie

Miss Julie, our shop girl, brought in this adorable dress that she got from her aunt for the holidays by Isabel Knowles. Between the adorable collar, the cartoon fox print lining, and the decorative stitching, this dress was just too cute! It needed no major changes, but just needed to be tucked in a bit.
