Customer Profile: Kate’s Sweater

Kate brought us a few dresses on her last visit, and this time she needed some sweater rehab. She brought in 3 sweaters–two were simple and we fixed with a bit of reweaving. The third however needed more attention and used to be her grandpa’s. Kate mentioned that she usually just wore the sweater around the house, the only problem was that it developed a huge hole in the armpit. Bummer!

About a Dress #22

About a Dress #22
This week’s dress was donated to us by Rock it Again next door because it was damaged. The seams were falling apart and there were stains at the hem.

Customer Profile: Robin’s Dress

Robin came to us with this over-sized tunic dress that she bought in 2009, while in Pasaraya Grande, Jakarta. Unfortunately, it sat in her closet for years. She loved the fabric, but the bright colors PLUS the long bell sleeves PLUS the fact it was about 18″ too large, made her feel like she was wearing a costume. A terribly fitting, unflattering costume. Robin was drowning in fabric!

About a Dress #21

About a Dress #21
This week’s thrift store dress has been in our collection for a while, waiting for just the right inspiration to make it more fun. There was just way too much fabric, and it was too boxy.

Customer Profile: Wagma

Wagma came to us with several of her favorite knit pieces that had holes or stains in them. This black and white knit dress had a few stains on the sides, and Wagma did not like it as a dress anymore, so we decided to cut it in half.

About a Dress #20

Happy New Year everyone! We took a little break for the holidays from About a Dress, but we back for our weekly post! This week’s dress was a vintage piece that had been cut off at the hem, and was donated to us by the Trash Cat vintage ladies. I liked the details across the front, and loved the drape, but the dress needed a little attention.
