As you all know, we are big fans of bloomers here. They’re comfortable, cute, and pretty much work with every lady’s figure. So when Charlie brought us this shapeless blue dress, we all agreed; turn that thing into an awesome pair of bloomers!
You guys may remember this design from the runway at Fashion Fights Poverty’s eco-friendly fashion show. Formerly a regular ol’ pleated skirt from H&M, Erin had it for years until she finally decided to revamp it for our 2012 Spring Collection.
This Saturday we are very excited to celebrate our newest local designer duo, Motley. These ladies will be showcasing their Lure Collection: necklaces made from none other than fishing lure. You really need to see these pieces in person! So head to brunch with the buds, drop over after to meet the designers, shop […]
When Sorrel came in for her tailoring consultation, she had a TON of clothing. Blouses, pants, blazers, dresses…practically a wardrobe! The best part? ALL of them were designed in the 1980s. The whole thing was a veritable treasure trohv of shoulder-padded glory. Hey there, folks! It has been HOT here in DC, and hot, sticky weather means you need to be comfortable as possible. Thankfully, Kristen’s outfit for this particular day- which was a whopping 100 degrees- was light and airy. She jazzed it up with brass geometric earrings by Jennifer Jeremias!
This week’s dress was donated by our neighbors Rock it Again when they were closet cleaning and found a few damaged goods. The dress had a few stains here and there but had plenty to work with. We wanted to not only give this dress another life, but make it way more wearable at the same time.
Howdy folks! Today is the first post in our new series, “Our Tailored Closet,” where we showcase everyday outfits crafted with the help of our sewing machines! Whether they’re our own re-vamped designs or old garments that we tweaked and tailored, we want to showcase how fun and easy it is to make the most out of clothes that might have otherwise gone unworn, lost in a bin at Goodwill, or even in a landfill. We hope the series will inspire others to search their closets and reimagine new ways wear old, forgotten pieces!
We would like to introduce our new project: About a Dress. While all of our designs are repurposed, sewn in-house, and eco-friendly, we realized that we are holding out by not sharing our progress shots. In order to give people ideas about what those forgotten (and often unflattering) items can be transformed into, this project […]
