This week’s dress was another great find from Martha’s Outfitters (seriously, we can’t get enough of them).  The dress had amazing fabric, but there was just too much of it between the high neck, the long sleeves, the extra long hem, and the drop waist.

To start we hacked this dress in half, added in a few more pleats to add to the tailoring.  Then we shortened the length through raising the waist and creating a waist seam, which is oh-so-much-more flattering.  Next we re-cut the neckline to let out the collar bone, but kept it appropriate so this sassy lady could still wear it to work, and we shortened the sleeve to a 3/4 length, because we all love to show off our wrists 🙂  To finish it off, we added a touch of black piping around the neck and bottom of the sleeve to bring out the construction details.

This lady is ready for a confident day at work, and with a change of jewelry and shoes, she’s ready for drinks with the girls.

The Gingers have decided that workwear doesn’t have to be boring 😀

Until next week!  Same time same place!
