Customer Profile: Wagma

Wagma came to us with several of her favorite knit pieces that had holes or stains in them. This black and white knit dress had a few stains on the sides, and Wagma did not like it as a dress anymore, so we decided to cut it in half.

Customer Profile: John

Slender guys like John aren’t always down with an over-sized blazer. The jacket he brought in for his appointment was boxy, the shoulders were way too wide, and the sleeves were a tad too long.

Customer Profile: Bijal in Blue!

Remember Bijal? She brought us a tank top that we spruced up for her.  At the time, she also brought in this lovely blue ensemble that included pants and a tunic. So pretty! But the pants were just a bit too wide and billowy.

Customer Profile: Jessica

Jessica came to the studio with this little black dress. Totally functional, in good condition, but Jessica was pretty bored with it. After talking about what she didn’t like about it, we decided that a few small adjustments was all it needed.

Customer Profile: Kate’s Dress

When Kate came in with her bird dress, she also brought his frock. She liked it but it was a wee bit too short to her liking.

Our Tailored Closet: Stars and Dots

So we admit that this outfit isn’t from one of our closets, but from our buddy Alyssa’s. She came in to drop off a pair of pants she wanted worked on and lo and behold, she was wearing this cute vintage ensemble. While we worked on both pieces for her, it’s Alyssa’s excellent taste and style that made it happen. Not to mention, it’s a great example of print mixing (without being too over the top).

Over a year ago we repaired this vintage skirt, which had cotton threads that were breaking down and falling apart. The star top was oversized, and instead of tailoring it in 8 inches, we brainstormed giving it a fun cropped hem that was a little shorter in back for that perfect little peep of midriff. Both are great examples of quick alterations we can do on those vintage pieces with much promise! It’s so fun to see these pieces out and about!

Customer Profile: Victoria’s Skirt

Ya’ll remember Victoria, right? She came in with an adorable peach ensemble that we trimmed down for her.  Well,  she also had a skirt that she was looking to spruce up. It was a nice skirt, but she never wore it. It hung in an odd place and she just wasn’t crazy about the overall look.

Customer Profiles: Sorrel

When Sorrel came in for her tailoring consultation, she had a TON of clothing. Blouses, pants, blazers, dresses…practically a wardrobe! The best part?  ALL of them were designed in the 1980s.  The whole thing was a veritable treasure trohv of shoulder-padded glory. While it was difficult to choose which ones she wanted to work on, she ended up choosing about four pieces, including this black and white dress.
