When Andrea came to visit us last, she brought several dresses along with this old blazer to see if there was something we could do with it. The blazer definitely had potential, but something about it wasn’t quite working, so we decided to revamp it!

Nick has an amazing collection of vintage jackets, the only problem is they don’t fit! However, he understands that because of the quality of these pieces and the fact he could never find anything like it now, they are definitely worth investing in. He started by bringing in this Borrelli blazer along with a knit blazer (that I’m kicking myself I didn’t photograph!) This blazer was just way too big in the shoulders!

Kevin has been to us a handful of times, and this time he brought in an amazing suit from Redeem, only problem is the jacket in his size was sold out. Since the suit was too cool to pass up, he bought the over-sized coat anyway, and knew just where to bring it.

Customer Profile: Jon’s 1920’s Blazer

Jon came to us a few weeks back, and 1. His pieces were amazing and 2. I was very impressed with how he shops! Modern jackets don’t fit him right but he found that his size in vintage clothing fits perfectly in the shoulders. Thus, he ventures online to various vintage shops, does his shopping, then has pieces tailored for any extra needed tweaking. This particular piece was from the 20’s and was in ridiculous condition (we suspect it could in fact be proof of time travel).

Daniel brought us an Italian suit he had hanging in the closet but wasn’t quite happy with it. He typically wears jackets that are perfectly tailored, and this jacket didn’t quite do it: it was all around a little too big for what he preferred. We agreed that this suit re-cutting wouldn’t be drastic, but we could definitely tweak the suit a little bit everywhere to fit exactly how he likes.

Everyone needs a few bright red accents in their closets, and I was so excited when Blake brought in this rockin’ vintage red blazer. Even though it was much bigger than he would have preferred when he found it, the red was just too cool to pass up, and he knew where he could bring it to shape it up.

We are back with part 2 of the unfortunate mishap of the ripped pocket. In part 1 we repaired the pocket in a stylized fashion, and on this pocket, we decided to keep it classic and reweave–after all, this suit is for work and can’t get too loud.

Nick brought in a suit that he had to buy for a wedding. He did not get to make the decisions on the cut, and after the wedding, he brought it to us to rescue it and slim the jacket down. We love to do this because we thoroughly enjoy seeing guys around DC in well-tailored, slim-cut suits!

Ben brought us a blazer that had an excellent fit and great fabric. The only problem was that the collar was a bit too wide for his personal taste, so much that his buds kept telling him to get it recut. And so he came to us.
