Wendy brought us this great quality overcoat with the softest wool, but she is so petite, that she was just swimming in it! With a piece like this, since there is so much fabric, the options are endless.
We narrowed down what she liked and didn’t like, and we decided we wanted to turn this piece into something that was a little more tucked in at the waist, with some added feminine details. We started by raising the hem, taking up the shoulders, slimming the sleeves, and tailoring in the waist. She also said that she would rarely ever want to close the jacket, so we tailored the jacket so it was no longer double-breasted, and removed the extra buttons. And to finish it off, we created a little half belt from the excess from the hem to create gathers across the back of the jacket to add some fun to the silhouette. Now this jacket has a whole new life!
