Jennifer brought us one of her father-in-law’s old jackets, and wanted to figure out a way that she could wear it. She loved the fabric, but the shape was definitely not flattering on her, and it needed some jazzing up. She really liked our zipper jacket ideas, so we decided to convert this old blazer.
We started by tailoring the waist from the front and the back, resetting the shoulders, and slimming the sleeves. Next we figured out placement for the zipper as well as the navy tabs that can either snap across the chest, or snap around the collar (when the collar flips down).
Now the jacket is ready to go with a modern twist! She can either way the piece as a cool blazer/layering piece or as outerwear for the Fall and Spring (or winter with a warm wool pendleton under it).
