Well, she’s done it again! Dafna is the master at finding kick-ass clothing with potential at the thrift store and then paying us a visit. Her bargain find this time was a Michael Jackson “King of Pop” T-shirt. Everyone needs a few bright red accents in their closets, and I was so excited when Blake brought in this rockin’ vintage red blazer. Even though it was much bigger than he would have preferred when he found it, the red was just too cool to pass up, and he knew where he could bring it to shape it up.

I love my jeans. The older, the better. That perfect worn-in feeling… soooo comfortable, and yet, there’s this much time between broken-in and broken. Perfect example? William’s jeans. He loves them, but years of stepping on the hem wore down the back of the jeans. Luckily, at Ginger Root, we have a tub full of jean hems. jean repair

Customer Profile: Karen’s tiny vintage dress

Karen brought us 2 tiny dresses with great fabric that she hoped to revamp into something she could wear–you may have already seen how we turned the first into a tunic. This vintage silk dress needed a little more attention. All around it was too small, the armpits had rips in them, but we both agreed that this dress needed to be revamped so it could have another life cycle!

Nick brought in a suit that he had to buy for a wedding. He did not get to make the decisions on the cut, and after the wedding, he brought it to us to rescue it and slim the jacket down. Bridget brought us this absolutely gorgeous dress. It had been her grandmother’s, and while she thought it was beautiful, she was never going to wear it as is. Final-low-res Luckily, the dress was in fabulous condition!
