Ginger Root Design, previously named ReVamp ReWear, specialize in turning old into new, and repurposing old forgotten pieces.  The tailoring team at Ginger Root also does basic alterations, creative repairs, and tailoring on formalwear such as suits, bridesmaids dresses and wedding gowns on a case by case basis depending on our current work load.

It became very clear to us that everybody has those items in their closets that they can’t really wear, but they also can’t let go of.  You know, the ones that you think “Someday I’ll do something with this,” but you have no idea where to bring them.  We like to be that place.

We have male customers who bring in their old roughed up favorite jacket or grandfather’s old suits and we’ll modernize the cut, sweaters or shirts we rescue by sewing on elbow patches, shirts they swim in that we slim down, ties that we recut, an assortment of items for creative repair, and so forth.  As for the rest of the wardrobe, Ginger Root loves the well tailored guys.

Our female clients have been known to bring in their grandparent’s clothing or thrift store finds with potential for revamping, amazing dresses that are just too small to see if there’s something we can do, bridesmaids  dresses (in addition to the standard alterations) that we redesign after the wedding, their mother’s blazers from the 80’s for a facelift, and so much more.  By raising the hem, tucking in the waist, and removing the sleeves of that old favorite dress, it is ready to go for another cycle.

*Note–We currently do not work on leather and fur.  Because we like to encourage repurposing whenever possible, we do not make things from scratch unless they are custom orders of our original designs.
