Ginger Root Design is the home to ReVamp ReWear tailoring, who specialized in turning old into new, and repurposing old forgotten pieces.  The tailoring team at Ginger Root also does basic alterations, and creative repairs.

It became very clear to us that everybody has those items in their closets that they can’t really wear, but they also can’t let go of.  You know, the ones that you think “Someday I’ll do something with this,” but you have no idea where to bring them.  We like to be that place.

We have male customers who bring in their grandfather’s old suits or jackets and we’ll modernize the cut, add a few accent details, sew on elbow patches where the elbows have worn out, or turn it into a vest if the sleeves are ruined.  As for the rest of the wardrobe, Ginger Root loves the well tailored guys.

We also have clients who bring in their grandmother’s dresses or vintages one found through travel or specialty shops, which we transform into something they can wear to work or to a cocktail party. Bridesmaids  dresses, yes we can make the standard alterations, but we can also redesign them into something to wear more than once.  And by raising the hem, tucking in the waist, and removing the sleeves of that old favorite dress, it is ready to go for another cycle.

*Note–We currently do not work on leather or bridal.  Because we like to encourage repurposing whenever possible, we do not make things from scratch unless they are one of our current designs in the store.
