About a Dress #1

We would like to introduce our new project: About a Dress.  While all of our designs are repurposed, sewn in-house, and eco-friendly, we realized that we are holding out by not sharing our progress shots.  In order to give people ideas about what those forgotten (and often unflattering) items can be transformed into, this project will feature Before and After pictures of those dresses that need a little snip and a tuck.

Here’s the plan, we will repurpose one dress each week and post about it here on Fridays.   The redesigned dress will be available once the post is up in our store at 1530 U st NW basement, as well as online.  But remember, these are all one of a kind, and when they are gone, they’re gone.

Before: This dress has amazing potential. Between the pattern and weight of the fabric, it needs to be a summer staple.

For this dress we shortened the hem, took in the sides, and recut the sleeves.  Pair it with our City Bloomers and fancy jewels and you’re set for a hot summer!

100% Recycled, 100% Ready to Love.

Get the look: Buy the dress here or in our shop, the locally made necklace by Rachel Pfeffer here, and the Pfeffer Amethyst ring here!

If you have items in your closet you would like us to update, call us at (202)567-7668 to set up an appointment.  And don’t worry, we will let you know if that item from the back of your closet is a lost cause 😉

Until next week…
